🌸 Living in the Past

Time has passed. And in reality, you were doing fine. You were simply confronted with something old, something that is already behind you.

LIFE

Sometimes I catch myself thinking about past relationships. Thinking about that person, projecting the past onto the present, starting to compare, and losing myself in all the “what if” thoughts.

That’s human. And it’s okay for it to happen.

But it shouldn’t become a heavy burden, and it shouldn’t affect how you feel today. We can’t live in the past. Yes, people can change — but that’s no longer our responsibility. Life goes on.

Look to the future.
Look at how far you’ve already come, at the progress you’ve made, even if it sometimes feels small. Your life is about you — your path, your process.

And when you think you miss him or her, remember this:
You’re not really missing the person — you’re missing the beautiful memories. The moments that felt good. But there were also other moments. Moments that hurt. And there’s a reason why it ended.

Time has passed. And in reality, you were doing fine. You were simply confronted with something old, something that is already behind you.

And that’s okay.

But it’s not a reason to question your life.

What you can do is keep growing. Keep healing. Keep laughing. Keep creating. Keep living.

That’s really the only thing you need to do for yourself: live your life.

And yes, it sounds cliché — but that doesn’t make it any less true.

We humans have a tendency to overcomplicate things, while true happiness is often much simpler than we think. It lives within you. In doing what you love. In choosing what gives you energy. In finding something every day that puts a smile on your face.

You can cherish the past, learn from it, and speak about it.

But you are not meant to live there.

You are meant to live now.
And now is where your life is waiting.
